The worst song ever written.

I do not like this song. Punk rockers WOULD NOT wear flowers in their hair. Fact.

I always thought the point of it was rebellion. A punk rocker wouldn't wear flowers in their hair, but a rebellious hippy-rocker would.

However, I have been known to be wrong.

It's kind of saying "I wish I lived in a time when people CARED about music!" which is ironic coming from someone whose career is completely founded on marketing spin.

Also there was quite a lot of marketing spin in the late 60s and late 70s - particularly around the punk rock movement.

So it's an immature song by an immature songwriter who only had that one hit. She's left her record company now and plans to release her third album on an "independent" label so I expect that's the last we'll hear of her.

Furthermore, Charlie Brooker agrees with me (didn't see this until I Google Sandi Thom just now)
